I first went to Russia in January of 2003 when I ventured off to the world’s largest country to study the language in Moscow. After five months, I returned to the US to save up some money so that I could return and ended up staying another year living, working and studying.

In 2006, I took a one-month vacation there with my parents. These are a few of hundreds of photos I have from my several trips to Russia.

The image of the two people above has always been particularly interesting to me because of the juxtaposition of the beautiful church with the worn out people sitting symmetrically on the sides of the entrance staring at each other.
