This image was taken at one of the many docks in Iquitos where boats come and go on their way out into the Amazon river basin surrounding this major city in the middle of the Peruvian jungle. During my week in the area, I saw the rising and falling of the water levels, the results of which are calmly adapted to by those who live on or work near the water edge.

Every Saturday outside of Khorog and at other locations where a bridge between Afghanistan and Tajikistan exist, Afghans flow across the border into a guarded bazar in order to sell their products. This teen sat on a blanket selling various items from simple electronics to buttons, pausing long enough to look into my lens as I watched him through the viewfinder.
